Kilauea Elementary School, Building A - Replace Waterlines

Kilauea, Kona, HI - 2019

The project consisted of a single story wooden classroom building to accommodate 20 pre-school students and 2 teachers.  The Department of Education recommended working in conjunction with DAGS to upgrade the water system servicing the Kilauea Elementary School.  MEI provided mechanical design work for this project that included site investigations of existing conditions and conduct existing plumbing fixture count; analyzed the existing water distribution system to verify the capacity of hte existing water line distribution system and upgrade line sizes as required, removal of hte existing galvanized water line serving Building A and replace with copper piping; and the existing water meter location would be relocated closer to the DC fire meter.
