A newer holiday set in place in 1994 by President Bill Clinton. This was to recognize, uplift, and support the role of parents in the rearing of children. Similar to Mothers Day and Fathers Day, Parents Day does not limit to biological parents. As any parents or are in a parental position in their home or community.
Only a few other countries celebrate this day as well such as South Korea, India, Philippines, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Anywhere else celebrates Parents day on Global Day of Parents held on June 1.
